| Community Project! Water for Afife! |
In December 2008, after one year of meetings, hard work and challenges,
we commissioned the water distribution system. Clean potable water has
been piped throughout the village of Afife and surrounding communities. This
huge project included building two concrete water reservoirs, laying five
kilometers of polyethylene pipe and setting eighteen pipe stands bringing
water to over 4,500 people.
The women and children had been drawing water from small water holes
alongside the busy road, next to the rice fields or from wells with unclean
water. They sometimes carry water for many miles. We are grateful to our
donors for making this possible.
